Brooklyn walked in and sat down on her bed by the window and wall.

Catalina stepped in the dormitorie and saw a girl nearby sitting on her canopy bed. She walked towards her own, which was just next to the other girl's and said, "Hello."

Brooklyn looked at the girl and nodded. She knew this one was a veela like her and liked to cause trouble for the marauders and their currents. "Hello Williams."

"I was just wondering," Catalina said slowly and rather awkwardly, "Is it true that you're a Veela like me? I mean, I suspected it, but I didn't want to accuse you of it, although I daresay it would probably be taken as a compliment." She gave a slight smile, knowing this girl was going to be hard to crack open.

Brooklyn merely nodded her head. "Yes I am. Only I don't go after the foolish childish boys here. They aren't worth my time."

Catalina wasn't in the slightest taken aback by her words. She had grown up with coldness. Shrugging, she said, "To each his own, Brooklyn. I prefer men that are hard to get. Not that I really want them. It's just the chase that's thrilling."

Brooklyn smirked. "Nicely said Williams." Brooklyn nodded. "If you want a chase then you should try a professor or graduated student sometime, but not Ashcroft, he's mine."

Catalina smiled back. She listened to Brooklyn let out a name. "Ashcroft? He's the Potions Professor, correct?" Another flashing smile. "No worries, Brooklyn, I won't steal anything from a fellow Veela. But, nice job. He's very attractive."

"Yes, he is." Brooklyn smirked. "I know he is, I was talking with him in the Astronomy tower last night during the storm."

"Oh, really?" Catalina murmured velvet-like, clearly interested. "And? Did anything happen?" She realized she didn't know Brooklyn very well, but in all reality, who did she have to tell? Catalina wasn't exactly liked by anyone. She had no friends.

And, a part of her wanted it that way.

Apparently so. Catalina thought smugly. She stood up almost immediately, feeling it unnecessary to continue this conversation. Bowing slightly towards Brooklyn, she said, "Good day."

And then, she was gone.

Brooklyn walked in and dropped her stuff beside her bed and laid down, tiredly.

Catalina stepped up the stairs to the girl's dormitories, her face riddled with desperate exhaustion. She saw Brooklyn and gave her a small smile before plopping onto her own bed.

"School's getting so tiresome," she complained. "I wish we could just leave already."

Brooklyn noticed Catalina walk in. She gave a small tired smile back.

"Yeah, I know what you mean." She said and rolled onto her back and stared up at the canopy of her bed. She traced her dark mark through the fabric of her clothing and sighed. She wanted revenge on those who had taken her parents away from her and her brother.

"Yeah," Catalina whispered, her eyelids heavy. "I also wish those self-righteous Gryffindors would leave me alone. Did you know that Lovegood and Evans have apologized to me? I mean, honestly!" She allowed a feral growl to erupt deep in her throat.

"You don't apologize to someone just because your friend is. And, especially not if you feel guilty. That's disgusting. You have to really mean it." She rolled her eyes. "But, I apologized back to Lily, because this may sound odd, but there's something about her that seems sincere. Lovegood and both of the Greens, on the other hand. They've got it coming. When we're out of school for good they're going to be the first to die." Her tone had become violent and she glared out the window, her sapphire eyes flashing.

"Evans would mean it, and honestly I don't think any of them but Kayalynn could hold a grudge." Brook said with her eyes closed.

"I'm not sticking up for them or anything Catty, but you know you'd lost Remus if you're the reason his girlfriend died." Brook stated.

"You'd be surprised at how they look at me," Catalina whispered darkly. "They shouldn't have fought back, anyway. If nothing else, Lovegood will die. I don't care about Sirius as much as I do Remus . . . so it could work. Sirius is easily swayed by my flirting."

"That's very true, Brooklyn." Catalina paused, liking the nickname. "What can I call you to shorten your name?"

Brook laughed at that. "Go ahead, never did like that one."

Brook shrugged. "Dunno, my brother calls me BB or Bee."

"I'm glad I have at least one other person's approval on this." Catalina laughed along with her.

"I think I'll call you Bee. And, I like 'Catty.' I've never been called that before." She smiled genially.

Brook smiled and sat with her legs crossed. "She deserves it."

Brook smiled back. "Alright, I like Bee." she laughed. "I think it fits you, Catty."

"What has she done to you? Annoy you with her rainbow puking cheerfulness?" Catalina giggled at her joke.

"Why? Because I get angry all of the time and want to get into fights with girls?" Catalina laughed again, her sapphire eyes lighting up with joy.

"Pretty much, that and just because she's a Gryffindor she thinks she should get what she wants." she said with a laugh.

"And that she's a hypocrite." Catalina sighed and then looked at Brooklyn with a sudden ferocity. "I think that there is something familiar about her. Do you notice how when she's with Sirius he can't look away from her? Do you think she's half-Veela?" With a smirk, she continued, "I could use that against her you know, for calling me a slut and saying that I use my looks to win over guys. What has she been doing? Do you want to help me find out?"

Catalina shrugged, "Well, I'll call you Bee because you're . . . buzzy?!" She chuckled again and then nodded. "Yes, well, at least you have a reasonable reason for calling me 'Catty'. I don't know about Bee, though. Why does your brother call you that?"

"Yeah, she is." Brook nodded. "The Greens are half veela's but I don't think I've ever seen Kayalynn even go near a guy with the intent on making him like her.... Krista, I'm not so sure about. I've seen her with Reid Garwin, the Seventh Year Slytherin..." Brook smirked. "'Course I'll help."

Brook started laughing hysterically. "Honestly, I have no clue why he calls me Bee. I think because when I was little I liked wearing yellow and black, and on me and his first Halloween, the only one that my parents lived through, my parents dressed me up as a Bee." she shrugged.
