Charms- Lumos

Welcome to the first class ever created on Before the Rebellion! In this lesson you will learn about the light casting charm "Lumos".

The bell rang to signal the start of class and Cassandra Smits (the new Charms Professer) strode into her classroom. She could not help smiling. There were her students, all sitting there throwing paper airplanes at eachother. Just then a very large pink "plane" hit her square in the nose. Her smile vanished. "Good Morning Class" she said trying to keep her cheerful mood going. There was not much of a responce. A few people said "Mornin'" or just weakly smiled back. Cassandra knew she must not look like much of a teacher with her pale lavender robes and her short hair lightly curled under her large purple flowery. "Today we are going to be learning about Lumos, the light charm". She said loudly over the noise. When no one calmed down she yelled "QUIET!" and sent a narrow stream of bright yellow light from her wand that lit up the whole room. Everyone was quient now. They stared. "Can anyone tell me what spell I just preformed?" asked Professer Smits in her normal voice. A small red haired girl raised her hand timidly. "Yes?" Called Smits. "It was a very powerful Lumos Charm" said the girl. "Correct! Now I want you to all be able to do that at the end of class. You prononce it like this LOO-moes. In Latin lumen means light, so it is aptly named. Lumoses counter spell is Nox (prononced Noks), witch extinguishes light from Lumos. Now on three I would like you all to give your best shot at it. Practice makes perfect. One... Two... Three..." at this most of the class shouted "Lumos!". However very few managed to actually create any light. "Okay! Well done for a first try! Make sure you are waving your wand with a sharp flick when you say it." Just then the bell wrang. Cassandra passed out parchment. "Forhomework answer these questions and practice Lumos charm."
