Personality: Ames is a very friendly person to all, but he does tend to keep to himself a lot. He likes to laugh and have fun, but he knows when to be serious. He tries to pretend that he is much more mature than the other boys his age, but sometimes he can act childish. He enjoys sports and activities just as much as he likes to learn. Ames likes to read and can often be found in the library looking up something new. He also enjoys attending class. Ames can be rather adventurous and loves to go out into the woods and explore. He also has a thing for animals and can be rather sympathetic towards people hurting.

History: Ames was born the youngest of four by his parents Marc and Catherine Devereux. They grew up in an enchanted forrest close to a wizarding community in the northern part of France close to the ocean. His parents liked the isolation from the numerous Muggles and wanted to be a little ways from Magical folk as well. Both his parents were wizards, his father attended a fRench Academy for Magic and his mother went to Hogwarts. They met at their work, where they dealed with Magical Creatures. Even though they live in France, the children all got accepted to attend Hogwarts.

One day, before Hogwarts, Ames was out in the woods. He was being rather adventurous. He stumbled upon a small spring that he had never known of. As he approached, a wizard came out. Ames recognized him as a OOTP by his robes, but the man did not show much mercy for Ames stumbling upon his hideout. After menacing him for a while, he scarred Ames's hand in the shape of an "S".

In his fourth year, however, Ames's father Marc was killed by a Death Eater traveling through their forrest. Ames had been at school at the time, and it killed him when he found out. Ames also discovered that his parents were members of the OOTP. He hated both sides, not only because they both hurt him in some way, but because it divided his family. His brother Guy joined the Death Eaters and Remi became a member of the OOTP. Ames talks to both, but neither will talk to each other. Ames also feels rather protective of his sister, Nathalie.
